Easy Entertaining

Some people don't entertain a lot. Maybe it's because it's intimidating. But, it need not be.

We decided years ago that showing hospitality would be a way of life for us. By default that meant that I would not stress about it!

Our son's godfather was in town recently and so we had some mutual friends in for dinner. The day was unbearably hot, so the dinner was very simple. But, the fellowship was great!

Barbecue beef sandwiches and watermelon.

Here is my sister's coleslaw recipe which topped the shredded beef.

Add the following to a bowl of shredded cabbage and carrots:
3 T. honey mustard
2 T. apple cider vinegar
3. T. Olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Toss to coat and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to let the flavors blend.

What the dudes did while dinner was in the works:

Maybe I wouldn't mind entertaining if my food looked as pretty as yours does :)

I love coleslaw, thanks for the recipe. It looked so good and what a great idea too.

Thanks for stopping over from BATW. I had no idea and so appreciated all the great comments. I am glad that so many of us agree that we need to do better by our husbands. What an amazing world it would be if the negative were to be removed.:>

You make a great point. As I grew up, I vowed that I'd host people all the time. And somehow, I've gotten away from that, partly because I don't know how to ask people for the first time. I think I may need to just ask! Thanks for the inspiration.
